Brief: Create personas of mountain huts users in Rila and co-create the sustainability criteria that correspond to the users needs for the future hut redesign.
Approach: We did field observations and interviews in order to define the full spectrum of users and stakeholders that interact with mountain huts and their needs and perceptions towards sustainability. We also facilitated several workshops with the interdisciplinary team to co-create a holistic redesign program and co-create the requested criteria.
The result: A set of personas with clearly defined needs and sustainability perceptions and clearly defined needs related to different areas of the huts - both fundamental for the generating meaningful ideas and building empathy and understanding between all stakeholders for the next phase of the project - the actual redesign of the mountain huts and turning them into truly sustainable places.
Success factors: Understanding of the importance of field work and the necessary volume of interviews by the client leadership team. Open collaboration in the interdisciplinary team.
