Client: KosLift/ IPKO Foundation Kosovo
Client brief: Redesign KosLift 2020 Design Challenge for a digital environment. Approach: a digital transformation kit for the trainers:
- Training for facilitators
- Step-by-step guides for facilitation
- Templates and virtual collaboration materials
- Facilitation of workshops
Duration: May and June 2020
Key results: improved quality of deliverables, trained team of facilitators
Success factors: practical training approach focused on facilitators first in order to give them the tools to teach design thinking methodology online ; work on the real projects of the participating teams
In 2020 the third edition of the Design Challenge organised in Kosovo by KosLift and the IPKO Foundation had to be transformed – it had to be held digitally in order to give students the opportunity to participate in it, while staying safe in the specific sanitary situation. Their goal was to provide a high quality training for all 9 competing teams and to keep their engagement high. They have contacted us to make that digital transformation happen. Our previous experience has proven that it is not enough to simply transfer in the digital the design for a training that was meant to happen in a physical presence – the results are not going to be as good as expected. So we did not only prepare a toolkit with all of the necessary templates and walkthroughs and trained the mentors of KosLift on the new ways of working; we redesigned in a co-creative manner the flow of the Design Challenge.
The competing teams had more time to process the information and advance in their work, while the load of work for the mentors decreased.
Here’s what the client says:
“We had high expectations, but launchlabs still managed to exceed them.”
